Updated release - I put out the single-player VMS-Empire, but here is a version of the multiuser version. Just add this to your Synchronet BBS https://sourceforge.net/projects/wolfpack-empire-bbs-door/ and you will connect to the official server. The server code is included in the archive so you can run your own, but setting it up is beyond what I can post about here. You can ask about it in the Gamenet BBS feed. If you need any help you can ask me as well...

bin/empire: error while loading shared libraries: libreadline.so.6: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Figured this one out... my distro does not have libreadline6 package, but I was able to create the symlink to libreadline.so.5.2 to get past this.As I posted just now, you can use this to install the latest version:
Now it asks me for a country name and when I type one in, it says "No Such Country" and exits.

As I posted just now, you can use this to install the latest version:>sudo apt-get install libreadline6 libreadline6-dev
Assuming one is using Debian (or variant), yes... Doesn't work very
well on Slackware, though. ;)

I'm working on a better way to tell you what countries you can use, but right >now the country and passwords are set the same: like "1<cr>1<cr>" etc country >and password set to the same number. I'm working on a script to display the >latest number that can be used... Give me a few minutes ;)
Ubilinux, which sources from debian stable, apparently does not have 6 available yet. That command will result in a not-found message.
1<cr>1<cr> works! Brings back memories of the "old days" when I had an account at the local university. It was not a VAX but something like it. You could telnet to MUDS, etc... it has a feel like that.
Updated Wolfpack Empire to have a menu system and let you view which player numbers are still available for use. Upgrade your copy here: https://sourceforge.net/projects/wolfpack-empire-bbs-door/

That works! :)
Now, when I type "info introduction" followed by "info guide", the screen scrolls nonstop for a very long time. Is there a command that tells the game to pause after every 24 (or N) lines?
Is the source available? I can't seem to find it.. was thinking it might
be useful if one wants to run it on another platform (like on a raspberry
pi for example?)
I dont remember but I will see. Would you like the link to the online docs for it? Especialy the "15 minutes to Empire" document is very usefull. Will get the link and post it here....
Here is the link to the online docs, mainly the "15 minutes" tutorial. The res
of them are under the "Empire" menu item.

Let me know if you need more help!

You can get the original source at https://sourceforge.net/projects/empserver/ - if you want my exact
source let me know....
I don't know, did you change anything to make it run as a door? If not
then I guess the original source would do, if it's modified, then yeah
your exact source please :)
