Can anyone recommend a good FREE VPN for use on linux?
I was using Windscribe when I ran windows, but now I need something I can run on my linux machines so I can keep torrenting my TV shows without Google bitching at me about downloading copyrighted material.

Windscribe does Linux for Ubuntu, Debian, Fedora & CentOS:

I started to look into that recently, and from what I could tell, it seems there aren't any really great free VPNs.

I am not experienced with clearnet VPNs.

What I can do is recommend you to go into the i2p network. It is a darknet (think tor) with a heavy torrenting and warez comunity. There is a lot of downloading to be done there, but you can only access resources hosted within the i2p network for the most part.

Thanks to Warpslide I now have Windscribe up and running on my laptop, and will in stall it on my desktop when I get home.

You got to https://geti2p.net and download the reference router for your platform. You install it and start it

You wait around 15 minutes to integrate with the network.

You fire a browser and configure it to use 127.0.0.1:4444 s a web proxy.
Then visit trcker2.postman.i2p using the browser.

Hunt for torrents until your hunger for torrents is gone.

Use the bundled torrent clietn (127.0.0.1:7657 and look for torrents) for downloading your stuffs.

Speed is sloooow becuse of all the crytoanonimity layers, but it is fun :-)

lso you can visit the i2p IRC services at 127.0.0.1:6668
