    Anybody watching westworld?

It seems like they really lost the magic.
and i don't like the jumping around in time.

such a shame when they have some good actors.

I was really into season 1 but I think the show got a little big for its britches quick. There was some suspension of disbelief possible with the whole hosts-in-the-park thing, but as soon as they broke out and basically became superheros/supervillains I had to check out.

i think that's exactly what happened.
I think they went out of whatever small bible they had for the show and it went off track. i believe that's what happened with lost.

eventually it gets very convoluted and the writers get frustrated.

Only managed to watch the 1st season (I think). The last thing
I remember is the escape from the park and a couple of them
    climb into a boat.

The gradual revelation to sentience was interesting. But after
that, the concepts and philosophies seems tired and old.

Loved the 1st season. Haven't watched it since...but have it current on my media server. Just trying to keep up with the new season of "Solar Opposites". ;)

For that matter...am so far behind "The Flash" & such that one of these days...will watch what I've missed.

... If you only see one movie this year...you need to get out more often.

flash is another show that used to be good but went real downhill.
he basically talks his way out of everything.

"you don't have to do this!"
and his supporting cast is huge.

I used to really enjoy it, but feel like there eventually was too much you
had to suspend belief for in order to watch. Seems like it happened right about the time that "Supergirl" switched networks and joined CW.

Seems like all of those shows "jump the shark" after being really good for a little bit. Maybe it's all the writers' fault. They have a good story for only X amount of episodes, and then suddenly either they run out of good creativity or perhaps someone else takes over.

well, they have too many individual shows, too many episodes for all those shows, too many characters, it's expensive, and they have a viewership that wants soap opera drama between the characters.

Yes, I had to quit watching it at about the same time. IIRC, they all went pretty "woke" about that time. :(

There was a spin-off show of one of them (Arrow or Flash) that was about a
guy who used his space-ship to travel through time. That one was ok at
first, too, but I think it got cancelled? What I thought was funny about
it was that the main character (the time traveler) was played by an actor
who had recently finished a stint as one of Dr. Who's companions. :)

They may have been better off if they had just one show that contained the universe, with different story arcs for the different groups of characters,
and certainly less soap opera drama.

You're thinking of DC's Legends of Tomorrow. It actually went on to make quite a few episodes. If it was cancelled, it was only recently. It's just that the actor that you're talking about was no longer on the show, and the captain role was taken on by Arrow's ex girlfriend that was supposed to be dead.

Are you referring to Legends of Tomorrow? I took that show as being an attemp t to cash in on the Avengers. All the characters are secondary characters on their own that come from one franchise or another.
