The Washington Redskins can become the Washington Black Mages.

I hope the Skins plan on fighting this. This country has gone too far with this shit!

I agree with you, but I was trying to think of a name that would get the other side to be quiet.

Changing the name of the team would technically mean disbanding it & creating another seperate team. I know NFL teams change location often, such as the Cleaveland Rams becoming the LA Rams - but changing the name of the team itsel
means ending its legacy. Shouldn't that be considered?

The Cleveland Browns went to Baltimore & became the Ravens. I believe it
was the St. Louis Rams that went to LA.

    Mike,

I think that's correct. The worst part is for all the merchandising and printed items. When the name changes, the items are worthless, or they
    become collectors items.

So I did read that the RedSkins WILL be changing their name. No hints
as to what the change might be to... lets start a list, what do you
think the RedSkins will be switching to?

There have been news stories all over the place. To me, I think the
Lobbyists would be more than appropriate. <G>

It's still deeply offensive to my sensibilities. I know that English football teams regularly changed their names back in the late 1800s to early 1900s. Manchester United, for instance, was founded as Newton Heath & West Ham United were known as Thames Ironworks F.C. I suppose I can see why The Hammers changed their name!

As a long-time Oakland resident, I wish the Raiders would change
their name. The "Las Vegas Raiders" doesn't do their history justice.

I always like the story of the Brooklyn Trolley Dodgers moving to LA
and leaving the "trolley" part in NY.

Muahahhahahaha - that would be quite fitting. :P

For all the money that changes hands...never mind what's spent for elections...we could eliminate the debt (in the trillions of dollars),
fund Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid, and have stuff left over.

But, you know darn well the Deep State isn't going to let that
happen. It's like the tagline below.

Really? I grew up in the northwest US, and I've always heard of LA referring to Los Angeles.

It is...but we do things differently down here. <G>

At times, some have referred to Arkansas as "Sasnakra" (Arkansas
spelled backwards), as that's the way stuff was done. Years ago,
before they had "The Arkansas Lottery", they said "gambling was
illegal". Yet, they allowed betting on the horses at Oaklawn Race
Track in Hot Springs, and on the greyhounds at Southland Greyhound
Park in West Memphis. To me, that's a double standard.

Years ago, when I was working in silkscreen printing, one customer
came in for a deer hunting style shirt (hunting is real big here).
But he wanted "muzzle loaders" spelled as "muzzel loders". After I
and the artist corrected it (I did a ton of proofreading of stuff),
the customer said "that's not how he wanted it", and I blew a gasket.

While the owner was right there, I angrily replied "And they wonder
why Arkansas' literacy rate is the lowest in the country!! Stuff like
this makes us look like a bunch of dumb hicks. If there had been
something on the order that 'he wanted it that way', I wouldn't have
    said a word!!".

It makes me glad that I'm not a native Arkansan (I'm originally
    from Florida).

Los Angeles did have trolleys as well. But the red car system was replaced as the highways came along.
