they would rather turn the whole country upside down rather than see Joe
Biden investigated. What are they hiding? Are they all on the Biden payroll?

They know that Joe can't keep his mouth shut. If he gets charged, he'll probably sing like a bird to get a better deal.

And it will be far harder for Joe to "commit suicide".

started on that subject one day while Bill Clinton & Bill Richardson are in

    You're right.

Republicans have the power to do anything they want.

So what is keeping the Republican president from doing so?
What is keeping the Republican AG from doing so?
What is keeping the director of the FBI, who reports to the AG,
    from doing so?
What is keeping Moscow Mitch from having the Republican Senate
from issuing subpoena after subpoena to each of the Bidens?

    Oh, I get it.

Republicans have nothing on Joe Biden.
Republicans have nothing on Hunter Biden.

When you have the law, argue the law.
When you have the facts, argue the facts.
When you have none, just argue.

That seems to be the Republicans' modus operandi.

Talking points. As directed by Russia.

Republicans have nothing on Hunter Biden.

Maybe it's just that nobody really cares about Biden corruption, because
it's not hurting America. I can live with that.

    It's also not hurting Ukraine.
Thanks to a whistleblower who blew the whistle.

But Democrats have nothing on Trump either.

I'm sure they have plenty on Trump. Whether it means anything
remains to be seen. But they do have plenty of nothing.

The only thing he's guilty of is not being an autopilot president, and he's
been obstructing liberal handouts. When you injure the hand that gives handouts, you injure their election prospects at the same time.

The Democrats cited no actual crimes in the two articles
of impeachment. But his actions are impeachable offenses.
That is their case. Whether enough Senators decide to
convict and remove him from office remains to be seen.
    But those are the charges.

But for the Bidens to kick Ukraine while it's down is repulsive.

Hunter Biden was cleared of any wrongdoing by Ukraine.
Joe Biden was never charged of any wrongdoing in Ukraine.
Hunter is a lawyer, and has since resigned from the board
of the comapany that hired him. Joe is too busy on the
campaign trail to do business in Ukraine, or anywhere else.
So rest easy. Neither of the Bidens are doing anything
    repulsive.

It seems like that's what humans are devolving into - cold hearted and
    greedy.

Being a lawyer is an honorable profession.

Take everything you can & give as little as possible.

Joe Biden is running to serve us.
Donald Trump is running to serve himself.

Seems to me the Trump administration is doing wonders keeping
North Korea from developing nukes. As well as keeping Iran from
building its own stockpile. Everybody knows the technology is
available for any country that wishes to build it own nukes.

President Obama made us safer in an unsafe world, and possibly
from WWIII when the Russians invaded Ukraine and illegally annexed
part of its country (Crimea). Sanctions were imposed on Russia,
and Putin was angered beyond belief.

What did Trump do in regards to Ukraine and Crimea? He wants
to lift sanctions on Russia and invite them back into the fold,
re-instating Russia as part of the G-8!

That is what I call a fucking traitor. His campaign manager
having been convicted and sentenced to prison, allowing Russia
to interfere in our elections, and praising Vladimir Putin for
    a job well done!

And that's not to mention what he did to the Kurds ...

Let's throw Trump out on his ass because we don't need jobs or a strong
    economy.

Oh, let's just have Trump grant the rich another huge tax cut ...

Oh, let's just let Assad poison another few million Syrians ...

We need to ignore Kim because we just aint really scared of nukes,
because we're liberal with human life too.

Oh, let's be sure to have a new photo-op. If not for Christmas,
then for sure in time for Easter!

    Hello Dale,

GD> It is obvious, the prosecutor that was fired was
    GD> investigating Hunter
GD> and the gas and oil company that Hunter was
GD> serving on the board on.

DS> Nope -- the investigation of Burisa had been concluded and put on the
DS> shelf. Plus, Hunter Biden was not under investigation. That prosecutor
DS> was fired because he was corupt.

GD> Ukraine is the most corrupt place on the planet.
    GD>
GD> Follow the money and it will lead to the truth.

Exactly. The possible withholding of the billion dollar loan guarentee
was to get the corrupt procecutor fired. That was the truth then and it
is still the truth, no matter how people try to spin it into something
    else.

The current president of Ukraine was elected on an anti-corruption
campaign. Not just him, but members of his party. Having a majority
of his party in the legislature gives him lots of say.

After the whistleblower made known what Trump had done, President
Zelensky was widely criticized by his own supporters as being weak,
    and a lackey for Trump.

But he is a quick learner. So do not expect him to do like
Charlie Brown and try to kick the football being held again by
    Lucy von Pelt ...

If the prosecutor was corrupt as you have suggested, then why was a >GD>billion dollars used in typical Quid Pro Quo fashion.

To get him fired and to help clean up the Ukrainian corruption.

Never seen a trap work without any cheese ...

This is not open for debate when there is video-graphic evidence of
Joe Biden talking about what transpired.

There is, but you are putting the exact opposite spin on what happened
and WHY. It was done as an official policy of the US Government and our >allies. It was not done for any individual's personal gain.

If a foreign power frames an opponent of Donald Trump, that foreign
power will be richly rewarded. Even if that foreign power is a hostile
power, such as Iran, North Korea, China, or Ukraine. I mean, Russia
is innocent, and would never do such a thing.

You left out the part that talks about the prosecutor who was fired was
investigating Hunter Biden and Burisa because the CEO of that company had direct ties to leadership with the country of Ukraine.

No evidence of wrongdoing was found in regards to Hunter Biden.
That was before the prosecutr had been fired. With no new evidence,
there was nothing more to investigate, even after the prosecutor
had been fired. See how that works? Hunter Biden had been cleared,
    having broken no Ukrainian laws.

You sound very much like the Wizard of Oz, the guy pulling levers, behind
the curtain, proclaiming there is nothing to see here.

Dorothy did not have to step behind an iron curtain.

Like the Emperor who wears no clothes, we can all see what he
is wearing. The orange hair is not near long enough to cover up
what is below. And his hands are way too small ...

What is wrong with the President asking about what really happened there.
Nothing, because it is written within the U.S. Constitution that he must.

What the president did was a classic "shakedown" - akin to what
mob bosses do. This is usually done with an intermediary, known
as fixers. So, what we have here is Don the Con (mob boss) and
his fixer (Rudy G) in action doing their thing.

That did not stop the Democrats, from impeaching the President based upon
that inquiry, w/ what was said within the phone call with that nations leader.

It was based on more than that. But no matter. If at first they
don't succeed, they can always try, try again. I mean, impeachment
is not limited to being a one-time event. The same target can be
impeached a second time. And so on. However, my guess is we the
people will tire of it and in November decide to pull the plug on
    this dog and pony show.

Normally at the back-end of an impeachment there are evident crimes that are
known but at the end of this impeachment there are no crimes that were committed by the President that would indicate the reason why he was impeached. No crimes what so ever.

[quote]However, Shokin was not fired for investigating Burisma, but for
his failure to pursue corruption investigations -- including
investigations connected to Burisma. And Biden wasn't alone in the

    Hello Aaron,

impeached a second time. And so on. However, my guess is we the >LL>people will tire of it and in November decide to pull the plug on
    this dog and pony show.

    Good luck with that!

The House has the sole power of impeachment - they can do whatever
    they want with it.

There are more than a handful of US Reps taking the walk of shame this
    November.

All of them Republicans, not a single one of whom voted in favor
of either of the two articles of impeachment. Putting party before
the US Constitution (rule of law) is a crying shame, and the people
of this country deserve far better!

What happens when you poke a beehive with a stick a bunch of times, and then
it falls on the ground right in front of you?

Winnie the Pooh has a feast of honey?

You will find out when the GOP takes over the House!

That might be a long time coming. In the meantime, the Senate
has a trial to conduct. Or does it?

The Senate has the sole power of trying impeachments - they can
call or not call any witnesses as they see fit. Or do whatever
the hell they want. After all, it is their trial to conduct.

We all know it makes no difference if witnesses are called or not
called. That is the reality, such as it is.

The US Constitution does call for the Senate to conduct a trial.
However, the Framers of the Constitution were very sneaky, and left
out one important detail. No mention was made as to when such a trial
must be held. And that means Moscow Mitch has an out.

Keep in mind to notice the Framers of the Constitution did not
include "maladministration" as being an impeachable offense.
Only treason, bribery, and "high crimes and misdemeanors."

That is why the House did not include any specific crimes.

How does the Senate conduct a trial in which the defendant
has not been charged with a crime? It would be impossible for
him to be exonerated in such a case. So here is what is most
    likely to happen -

Basically, the Senate can vote, by simple majority, to adjourn
the start of the trial until November 4, 2020. This would allow
the people to decide the issue at the ballot box.

How to make that happen? It is a two-step process -

    1. The Senate can dismiss the articles of impeachment on
a procedural motion. A simple majority will do.

    2. The Senate Judiciary Committee, through its chairman (Sen.
Lindsey Graham) could hold hearings to show what a "witch hunt"
the House process was. IOW, the good Republican Senator from
South Carolina would be able to conduct his own trial to "acquit"
    the president through Senate hearings.

All of this during the same time that Democrats are seeking
their party's nomination for president. Just imagine the optics
it would be, as one of them could be called to testify.

So, there you go. A done deal.

President Donald J. Trump. First (and Last) Dictator of the USA.

Pelosi is withholding the articles of impeachment from the Senate for a number of good reasons of her own.

First of all I thnk she knows it isn't going far in the Senate.

Secondly, I think she has the notion she can stretch this out to the election next year and make it an issue of 2020.

But something few people realize; Pelosi's own son made money in a Ukraine company trading on his mother's position.

Also there was a democrat who pushed hard for impeachment, who's husband made around $700,000 from a Ukrainian who was accused of ordering contract murders!

There is a lot that would come out that wouldn't reflect well on some
democrats if Pelosi hands this to the Senate and Trump insists on a trial to bring witnesses.

There's more at stake for the democrats than Trump if it goes to the Senate
    for trial.

Plus....getting to the Senate would be a much different situation than in
front of the democrat-controlled committees in the House; in the Senate it would be much like a courtroom trial. presided over by the Chief Justice.

The democrat `house managers' would be the prosecutors, and Trump is entitled to a legal team who can cross examine democrat witnesses; call witnesses of their own; present their own evidence; etc.

I strongly suspect that, if it comes to that, the only thing the democrats
will be able to say is; they impeached Trump. But this is going to turn out to be one of the worst days democrats ever saw!

They do not have one single fact witness. Only hear-say witnesses, and a pack of academics who's best contribution was out-right Trump hate!

Their so-called `whistleblower' can't testify to anything. If they could Adam Schitt would have been waving him like a victory flag!

    Hello Greg,

Pelosi is withholding the articles of impeachment from TR>the Senate for
a number of good reasons of her own.

    Right many reasons indeed.

"We cannot name manageers until we see what the process
is on the Senate side." ~Speaker Pelosi, 12/18/2019, NYT

See there? She is waiting on Moscow Mitch. Same as
    everybody else.

She knows it will backfire w/ short proximity fuse, as it will not only blow
up in her face, but may remove the face she is currently wearing.

From the looks of things, she does not seem to be in a big
rush to do anything at all. Except wait for Moscow Mitch to
inform her what the process will be on the Senate side.

Her political career would be over and it would also send equal shock waves
    through the Democratic party.

You see how this works. Kind of like a giant game of chicken.
Now, remember where she is from. That's right. The same place
    as Dirty Harry.

Your hero thought she was bluffing when she pulled out her
weapon of choice, daring her to "Make my day, punk!" So she
pulled the trigger, showing him who was really boss.

Moscow Mitch thinks he can save his beloved by refusing to play.
But Speaker Pelosi has the guts to play hardball, upping the ant
by telling him, in effect, "We'll be glad to send you the Articles
of Impeachment. But we'd like you to do us a favor first."

Now the ball is in his court. The longer he waits, the worse
it will be for himself, his accomplices in the Senate, and his
dearly beloved (the critter occupying the White House).

I guess he forgot the Senate has no control over what the House
does. And I am not sure the House has any control over what the
Speaker does. In any event, if the Senate changes the rules to
schedule a trial, they can have a trial whether or not the House
    presents the articles.

Whether or not Speaker Pelosi wants the Senate to proceed without
the House's involvement is a different matter. She may not care
at all what Mitch McConnell and his cronies do or do not do. In
fact, she does not *HAVE* to do anything just because the Senate
    says so.

Speaker Pelosi has dropped a dead skunk in the lap of Moscow Mitch,
and she is letting it sit there to rot, being in no hurry to rescue
    any of them.

Speaker Pelosi is still Speaker. And the Democrats still control
the House. The House can continue investigating, and passing
additional articles of impeachment. Maybe two or three at a time,
for each impeachment. That way, even if Moscow Mitch gets his
beloved off on Impeachment #1, there will be Impeachment #2, and
Impeachment #3, etc., until the voters make a change this November.

    Hello Greg,

Your hero thought she was bluffing when she pulled out her
weapon of choice, daring her to "Make my day, punk!" So she
pulled the trigger, showing him who was really boss.

Trying to make Pelosi sound like Eastwood, interesting...

The president was trying to imitate "Dirty Harry" Callahan.
Speaker Pelosi showed him what a true punk she was, and made
    his day.

Don't try to frighten us with your sorcerer's ways, Lord Vader.

Darth Vader was a good guy. A bit misguided, but a good guy.

Your devotion to that ancient religion has not helped you conjure up the
stolen data tapes, or given you clairvoyance enough to find the Rebel's hidden...

    Jedi are evil.

I find you're lack of faith disturbing Lee.

Like I said, Jedi are evil.

The only reason why Nancy did this, was to quiet the howling rabid dogs,
that are the extreme left within the Democratic Party.

Speaker Pelosi is not the one who is holding up the trial.
Nor is it any of the Democrats, in either the House or the Senate.

Now she must deal with the consequences,

She is not the one who is facing charges.

and just like the Emperor who got thrown down the shaft, Nancy will take her
place at the bottom of this shaft as well,

Nobody seems to be challenging Speaker Pelosi for her job.

the Presidential authority will see her fail and show the country
just how much of a spectacle she is.

The president has no control over anything the House does.
Separation of powers, as outlined in the US Constitution, means
your dear boy can do nothing, absolutely nothing, to intimidate
Speaker Pelosi, or any other law-abiding member of Congress.

Which goes to show you how weak Republicans are, never challenging
the president on anything, regardless of what illegal acts he does,
    or attempts to do.

The house is a joke, not allowing for any cross-examination from the Republican side, denying Due process at every turn, and you wanna talk what Trump did?

The Republicans had ample opportunity to ask questions of the witnesses,
both in the closed sessions and in the open sessions. That sounds like cross-examination to me -- why not to you? Also, due process was not
denied in the hearings any more than a typical grand jury hearing, which
is essentially what the House was doing.

Our vision does not take planes from our skies.

Where do you get the idea that anyone's vision includes that?

It does not involve ridiculous Green New Deals.

It should involve some measures to combat man-made contribution to
climate change -- but it does not. That is to the detriment of the
    planet and future generations.

It does not involve blaming America or apologizing throughout the
world for our Nations interests that are vital to Our Security.

But it does involve putting political favors above our national
    security.

It does not involve removing or disarming citizens right to arms.

It should involve removing weapons of mass distruction from civilian
hands, but it does not seem to do even that.

It does not involve socialism of any kind, look around throughout the world where this was tried it has ended in starvation and misery for
    it's people.

That is a pretty broad statement. What do you think medicare and social security are if not a mild form of socialism?

    Tossing out presidents sounds easy.

It is. Just go to the polls, pull the lever, and it's done.
Or in this modern age, punch the screen.

Can we toss out US Reps who violate their oaths of office as well?

    Sure. Same procedure. Works wonders.

    How about state reps?

    Yep.

We've got a lot of violations going on throughout the country, but nobody
wants to pull their finger out of themselves and smell it; they just want
to mindlessly bash the president because it's easy to get praise in doing
    so.

Well, the president asked for it. Really. And I do not envy him.
Not at all. He asked for the gig, and we gave it to him. So he has
only himself to blame. Nobody else.

How is impeaching President Trump going to help the country?

It's show biz! Sure beats watching all those Big Pharma ads
on cable television when trying to watch the news. All those
committee hearings, with no commercial breaks, oh the wonder
of it all! Just think of what the upcoming trial will be like!
Commercial free! All day coverage! For an entire month!

Or - is it some other country that you want to see benefit from this?

We have to do this the American Way. That means not a show trial
like they have in North Korea, Iran, or the former Soviet Union.

Have the president himself take the stand as the main witness,
in his own defense. No other witness would be needed. Just think
of the ratings on that one. The president would be given a live
microphone and be allowed to talk for as long as he wanted. The
defense will then rest its case and the jury will render its
    verdict.

There was and there is plenty of funny-business that went on with Biden with

According to Ukraine, neither of the Bidens broke any Ukrainian laws.
Since the matter was already investigated, by Ukraine, and there is no

Now if President Trump wants to have his AG look into the matter,
and have the FBI conduct its own investigation, and have the Senate
subpoena Joe and Hunter Biden, along with whoever else they want,
then have at it. They have the power. All the levers of power to

That is a pack of bullshit! Joe Biden's son was involved in a company

of the company Hunter Biden was getting paid big money by. Joe Biden effectively shut that investigation down by threatening the Ukranian government with the withholding of a billion dollars in American aid if

Joe Biden did not shut down any investigation of Burisma. The
prosecutor that he had fired had already done that.

Joe Biden threatened to withhold a billion dollars if the prosecutor who was investigating the corrupt company; on who's board of directors his son Hunter sat and recieved a 60 to 80 thousand a month salary; wasn't fired!

In fact did everything he could to repress republicans even refering to him!

After pumping up the nation on the whistleblower being able to bring Trump down....suddenly Schitt did everything he could to supress even the very mention of the whistleblower!

    Why?

Because it came out that this so-called `whistleblower' had ginned up his
story with Schitt's own aides! And who knows' what would have come out under cross-examination!

This is a piss poor job of railroading. And its most likely to fail. Pelosi can't deliver the articles of impeachment to the Senate. Because that means a `trial'. In which Trump gets to call witnesses. Hello....whistleblower!

The value of Donald J. Trump.

I really don't think you can define American Values.

Would that be cultural values? Moral values? Personal values?
We each have our own ideas as to what constitute "American Values".
Here is what a fellow by the name of Guy Reel claims are his own
    set of "American Values" -

    Published on
    Wednesday, April 20, 2005
    by Common Dreams
    American Values
    by Guy Reel

What is America? What are the values it has most fought for
and admired? A few of the first, and most important, come to mind:

    Freedom.
    Equality.
    Democracy.
    Champion of the little guy.
    Helper of the oppressed.
    Defender against tyranny.

Some of the other values are ingrained in our history and our
    belief in our future:

    Capitalism.
    Independence.
    Strength.
    Rightness and righteousness.
    Manifest destiny.
    God.

    Freedom of religion.
    Family.
    Wealth.
    Faith.
    Entertainment and happiness.

Even a casual reader of these values can see where conflicts might
arise among them. Capitalism and strength have made America great,
but they have generated their own set of inequalities. Our wealth
is unequaled, but Jesus taught that our faith should make wealth
meaningless. Equality is a wonderful ideal, but frankly, not everyone
is created equal. Freedom is fine until we see our vast money-obsessed entertainment and happiness apparatus assaulting us with base
    immorality, cowardly news, and stupidity.

Over the last twenty years or so, the most radical members of the
right wing have claimed they've owned the core American values that
I've just enumerated; moreover, they've claimed that liberals have
tried to defeat them. Therefore, they argue, liberals are trying
to ruin the American way of life. They claim that liberals are a
threat to our very future. For those who question this assumption,
they need only to listen to talk radio, Fox news and the Republican
leadership who pass for responsible voices in our democracy.

Their methods are not surprising. Because here is their dirty little
secret: The far right must gain its identity from imagined enemies.
Because without these imagined enemies, the ultra-right wing is not
viable. Without the imagined enemies, you just have - America. It
is an America struggling with competing interests among its core
values. It should try to help the poor while building wealth for
us all; it should try to lead the world without exploiting or
dominating it; it should not be ashamed of a faith in God but should
never discriminate against those of different beliefs; and it should
try to figure out balances between those "right and left" policy
disputes, such as protection of the environment versus encouraging
    development.

This is the true American value: We are a nation of compromises. The Constitution is a document of concessions between competing interests.
We weigh the right of the accused against the power of prosecutors; we
weigh the power of judges against Congress and the president; we weigh
the power of the people against the strength of the government.

Yet this is the problem with the right wing today. When a political
faction encourages an atmosphere that makes these competing principles
evil and corrupt - even the idea that there should be competition among
them - it threatens the very essence of America. It must be said
outright: These strange Americans are fighting against the founding
    values of this nation.

The radical reactionaries (it is absurd to call them conservatives)
have convinced about half of Americans that the basic American values
    - the values of balancing various competing interests - are evil and anti-American. This is where the future of America is threatened, and
it must be fought at every turn.

What we have seen is the creation of a culture of hate in America,
and that is not too strong of a characterization. The radicals vilify
those who disagree with them -they must do this to survive. For without
the enemies that they themselves imagine, they are nothing. After the
imagined enemies are gone, they have nothing to rant against, except
the notion of American values. Therefore, if they lose their enemies,
    they lose America.

America is a balancing act. Sometimes we slip off the wire. No one said
it would be easy. No one said it was simple. It's a work in progress,
and it always will be. The danger to America is when we allow those who
vilify basic American values to have the loudest voices.

Through the eyes of the leftist media, he's already been impeached. B that's all the Democrats were aiming for anyway.

Ya, but who listens to the Left-wing Propaganda... er.. Media anymore?

The whole non English-speaking world receives liberal news regarding the USA. Telemundo, the same news outlet that covers stories like "the lady who can
read with her eyes closed, through her fingers.." is also telling people who speak Spanish many tall tales about Republicans in the USA.

Tell us all how Donald Trump is trashing and destroying American Values.

Donald Trump does not have American Values.
He has only his own values.
No empathy for others, except for his own self.
That is the one and only value he has.
The value of Donald J. Trump.

    Wrong on All accounts.
    let's look as to why?

Donald Trump does not have American Values.
Ever hear of a phrase Make America Great Again.

He has only his own values.
Donald Trump wouldn't of run if this was the case.

No empathy for others, except for his own self.
You don't really believe that. do you?

Greed and selfishness come to mind. But I would hardly
    call those American values.

Donald Trump does not have American Values.

Ever hear of a phrase Make America Great Again.

    America has always been great.
Unfortunately, it looks like Americans will have to wait
until our next president is in office before America can be
made greater than it already is.

He has only his own values.

Donald Trump wouldn't of run if this was the case.

Had we all been so fortunate.

No empathy for others, except for his own self.

You don't really believe that. do you?

Well, you do realize he and Melania do not sleep in the same room.
And that Barron is not really his kid ...

meaningless. Unless and until Pelosi delivers the articles of
impeachment to the Senate, Trump ain't `impeached'!

Through the eyes of the leftist media, he's already been impeached. But AT>that's all the Democrats were aiming for anyway.

It's all they need in order to send signals around the world that the AT>president of the USA is corrupt. Hopefully, other world leaders will see AT>through the lies.

    I watched a segment of Pelosi signing with multiple pens....she'd write a word...switch pens....write another word...switch pens....

She almost couldn't suppress the look of absolute glee in her eyes as she signed.

The democrats surrounding her as she signed were thrilled at what was happening. About the stupidest democrat to come down the pike in decades; Maxine Waters; went into hysterical joy! You could almost hear the `impeach
45! impeach 45!' running through her mind as Pelosi signed. And she left
waving one of the special `impeachment' pens Pelosi handed out as momentos
    high in the air.

Its not about Trump having done anything to get removed from office over.

Its about staining him with `impeached' after his ame in the history books.

Democrats and their bots in the media were pissed that Hillary lost to him.

His `impeachment' began even before he took the oath of office.

The democrats and their deep-state partners are livid that a political nobody with no political experience whatever managed to get over 60 million votes and defeat Hillary with an Electoral College majority so big it was an
embarassment to any democrat worth their graft!

I got something on that somewhere....let me look....

Yeah....in October last year Hunter Biden stepped down from the board of a Chinese-backed equity company (what would Hunter Biden know about `equity'!).

Hunter Biden was also involved in Chinese companies who use slave labor.

Have you ever seen a member of congress act like that much of a proud lunatic?

She almost couldn't suppress the look of absolute glee in her eyes as she signed.

I guess it was the biggest accomplishment of her life; to formally accuse the president of wrongdoing. A real patriot would regret to sign articles of impeachment against their president.

That will sound appealing to some liberals and terrible to the other half.
But even if you put proof of that in their faces, it wouldn't cure their TDS.
