Boeing is again experiencing problems with the production of its 787 Dreamliner, which is why safety inspectors want to perform their quality checks retroactively.
According to the Wall Street Journal, this would appear from an internal government memorandum dated August 31 and from sources familiar with the circumstances.
Boeing reportedly informed American aviation regulators about the production of parts by the South Carolina plant that did not meet its own standard regulations.
The Federal Aviation Administration would now consider accelerating an investigation of 100 affected aircraft. Of the 1,000 Dreamliners that have been delivered since 2011, approximately 900 could eventually qualify for further inspection.
