    What did he mean here?

    Hello Alexander,

    Since patent is a form of treated leather, I would picture this cabinet to be some kind of leather upholstered storage unit on the outside.

    The rest of the description describes the clothes as large in quantity (so the cabinet is probably over-sized), and the piles of clothes where folded very neatly and precisely, and stored very evenly.

    I'm a little dubious about this explanation given that the "expert"
    author consistently mispells "shiny" as "shinny"!! I love the
    explanation for Fitzgerald's use of the phrase, though. I still don't
    like his writing!!

    I did find what appear to be a patent office document -- much too long
    to quote and in the most obscure language possible!!
