    From Karel Kral@2:423/39 to All on Mon Mar 8 07:44:42 2021
    Hello All!

    I am experiencing some challenge there, most probably is not the issue of Golded, but - who knows.

    Tested Golded 1.1.4 and 1.1.5

    Tosser I have CrashMail II.

    If I use version 0.62, I have no issue with JAM. Higher than 0.62 means that I can see message headers, but no content. Version 1.7 cause that I can not access JAM at all from Golded. I would guess that there is something like "version/level of JAM"(?) which I am not sure how Golded is doing. In Crashmail changelog I see (beside others):

    ===========
    1.5 - Merge conversion from ulong/ushort to stdint types in src/jamlib/

    0.74 - Add usage of CPPFLAGS, CFLAGS, & LDFLAGS to the source file jamlib/Makefile.linux

    0.71 - Updated JAMLIB to 1.3.2

    0.7 - Upgraded JAMLIB to version 1.3.1
    ===========

    Looks to me that Golded can handle without issue some version lower than 1.3.1(?)

    If I avoid JAM usage, then I can combine Crashmail II (the latest version) with Golded without any other issue.

    Any idea?

    Thank you in advance

    Karel

    I have at last two CM II systems: 1. a VirtualBox VM that has been running for about 10 years; and, 2. this point system that is about three years old (was a VM before that).

    0.71 - Updated JAMLIB to 1.3.2

    This is my preferred (JAM) with the CM II 0.71 version.

    Any idea?

    You might try a slightly older GoldEd version? E.g. I use a 1.1.4.7 version somewhere. It might be on this point... checking... yeah, it is! :)

    Cheers,
    Paul.

    Difference between new CM2 jam and new golded jam areas?

    I don't now CM2. If possible you could try to get an actual version with that changelog reverted.

    So you mean that is really maybe Golded then?

    With the latest version CMII I was getting error in Golded.log like:

    ! 09:30:00 JamArea::load_message: can't read Jam subfield
    : 09:30:00 Info: Your msgbase is corrupted.
    + 09:30:00 Advice: Run a msgbase index rebuild/recover utility.

    With the 0.71 and above version of CMII I got no error, just saw headers, but not contect of message.

    Hm. I rather keep CMII 062 then to downgrade Golded...

    Yes. Do whatever makes you happiest.

    It's a real 'zoo' of choices "out there". :)

    OK, there is 64bit. In changelog there is something related to 64bit and JAM, but in 1.7 is fixed already.

    Lost in translation, sorry. Golded can create an area - and a tosser can create an area. My idea was to test both ways for new areas. If one of that works you have a skelton jambase for other areas.

    The faster workaround would be to transfer the areas to squish.

    Using FTS1 format there ;-)

    Could you send me your sample JAM database and some info about your system, I am experimenting with GoldED code and interesting to fix some bugs.
