Hello!
I am doing research into the Ham Radio and BBS intersections, and as I started out with FidoNet in the late 1980's I am making the first reachout for information on that
old FidoNet itself.
You can catch some of my writings at
http://k9zw.wordpress.com
Where I am interested is (for both FidoNet and for BBS in general:
Does the reduced bandwidth offer any benefits?
Can you do this completely over HF for the final connection?
Is there anything unique that comes over this system compared to the usual website internet?
Does this offering work better for those using reading aids or voice to text aids?
Are there other advantages to the ASCII format that are useful?
Any other insights into what makes this special?
I am good at QRZ.com and you can always email me at
[email protected] to get a dialogue started.
