• Last of the RA boards?

Hi Everyone who's still following this echo...

Just a quick survey to see how many RA boards are still out there?

I know on telnetBBSGuide there are currently 3 listed, including mine. But I have to believe (I want to believe..) there are more...? Still some of us nostalgic RA Sysops plugging away with RACONFIG... :)

Here's hoping for replies from IceEdit inside RA.. :)

    Take care

I am using SlyEdit styled to look like IceEdit. It also has a style for DCTEdit. :)

i don't know any more... i had to shut mine down after Hurricane Florence came through here and killed the power for two weeks... after power returned, the system didn't know how to init the HDDs...

if mine was still running, you would not see IceEdit used with any messages posted from it ;)

That's too bad about the system. I'm running mine in 'semi-modern' hardware under DOS sessions in Windows XP. So far so good. Cisco ASA and Exodus's RGBB utility for the win keeping the bot attacks down. lol

I have a 40MB tape here with a full backup of my original RA BBS and file base from around 1992 or 1993, but noway to restore it (or even tell if its still viable). Nostalgic fun. :)

I always liked the Ice-doors. Back in the mid 90s they were unique, so nostalgia is strong with this one... lol

There was a file taging lightbar utility that was pretty slick back in the day, but I can't remember its name now.
I'm currently using 'AnotherTag' which is nice, just not the one I remember (I don't rmember what I ate for breakfast, but I remember details of a file tagging system from 1993...) lol.

Just a quick survey to see how many RA boards are still out there?

i wish i could have revived my old RA system. But i also had no way to
restore an old tape backup. And i dont have windows or dos systems around
and everything has to work on a Raspberry Pi. I recently tried to use
Qemu on an raspberry but thats kinda tricky. At least i was able to start raconfig.exe and see the old menus again :)

That would be even more rare then a living RA system. One that is running
    on a raspberry pi :)

I also thought about trying Dosbian for the raspberry pi and how that
    goes for a RA BBS.
